Kingspan Insulated Panels has recently undertaken an extension and refurbishment of their manufacturing plant in Kingscourt, Ireland. The project, which was completed early this year, included the installation of an array of Kingspan products, including the recently-launched Kingspan Smart-Lite High Bay LED lighting system and brand new Kingspan Day-Lite Vault rooflight.
Micro-Rib profiled insulated wall panels, from the Architectural Wall Panel range, were integrated with compatible Kingspan Day-Lite Architectural wall lights to transform the external façades of both the refurbished building and extension.
1410m2 of Trapezoidal Roof panels and 650m2 of Topdek roof deck were also installed, complemented by integrated rooflight systems consisting of Kingspan Day-Lite Trapezoidal and Kingspan Day-Lite Vault. Kingspan Day-Lite Vault is a translucent polycarbonate barrel vault rooflight for flat or low-pitch roofs, and is the newest addition to the Kingspan Day-Lite range. Specifically designed to integrate with Topdek roof deck, this new rooflight offers a U-value of 1.1W/m2K, and allows high levels of natural light to flow into buildings, providing excellent long-term light transmission, thermal and structural properties.
Internally, the improved levels of natural light generated by the roof and wall lights were further enhanced by the installation of a new LED lighting system. A recent addition to the comprehensive portfolio of products offered by the Fabrications, Safety & Lighting Solutions team at Kingspan Insulated Panels, Kingspan Smart-Lite High Bay is a range of intelligent LED luminaires offering an ultra-efficient design that significantly cuts lighting energy usage. Not only has the quality and distribution of light been substantially improved, but the addition of smart dimming controls will also result in significant financial savings over traditional lighting sources.
Kingspan flashings and membrane lined insulated gutters provided the finishing touch to the overall building envelope, combining functionality, thermal performance and true aesthetics to meet the project’s design requirements.
